Sanford M. Silverman, MD
Sanford M. Silverman, MD, is board certified in anesthesiology, with added qualifications in Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate in Pain Medicine from the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also a Diplomate in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Addiction Medicine.His specialties include interventional and medical treatment of acute and chronic pain, and the treatment of various addictive disorders.
Dr. Silverman is the past-president the Broward County Medical Association (BCMA) and serves on the Board of Trustees as well. He is the past-president of Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (FSIPP), is a board member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP).
He has served ASIPP for the past 7 years as course director / lecturer for the Controlled Substance Management course and lectured at the ASIPP annual meeting. In addition, he is section editor, controlled substances for Pain Physician and represented ASIPP on the stakeholder committee for the CDC guidelines.
In 2016 Dr. Silverman co-authored a text book titled: Controlled Substance Management in Chronic Pain; A Balanced Approach.
Dr. Silverman is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL., Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the dept. of surgery at NOVA Southeastern University school of Osteopathic Medicine, and Voluntary Assistant Professor Medicine at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science.
